LOLO FOREVER

Nine years ago I discovered what FOREVER meant. It’s a time outside what we have ever known a kind of everyday that stretches without boundaries. We never really get to wrap your head around the idea of it not until something as incomprehensible comes along. It can take something as simple as a celebration that we were supposed to have but never did…Nine years ago Lolo Kulas passed away – a day before Auntie Del’s birthday. We were all surprise and shocked. We all never expected it. To think we were just recovering from Papa’s death (46 days earlier)

Every year our heart breaks all over again because another year has gone without Lolo. Every day is another day to find another thing that’s not the same because he’s no longer with us. Although it doesn’t get easier, we find different ways to deal with it. It also brought us closer to one another.
In life, we’ve known several kinds of sadness and have used the different words of grief but nothing can aptly describe the feeling of losing someone we have loved all our lives. He is the head of the family – he brought up three wonderful children. Showed unconditional love and affection to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. As they say, “A WISE FATHER MAKETH GOOD CHILDREN” and we strongly agree with this. Life wasn’t that easy but he pulled through it. He worked hard and he was a good provider. He raised successful children and they are forever grateful for that. We the grandchildren have our own memories with him – memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. He has a great influenced in who we are now.

As a kid, we sometimes create our own heaven…and for my heaven, I’ll fill it with all the things and words I never got to say and express to him. I’ll let it float in the clouds and lolo will see it and he will realized how much he is loved.
Years from now…we will still be missing him because we live our lives with the echoes of his love.
Some good things have their end…but if it’s his good things, it will never really leave. It has way of staying FOREVER!!!

Message to Papa ( ' , ' )

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things we can go through, it leave us shocked with grief so much more if it is a father. They say a father is such a special person and when he dies, it feels like you lose your identity. We sometimes cannot understand how one minute this person was here and the next they are gone. The truth is that those we love are never truly gone. The body may have run its course, but the soul lives forever.

On May 8, 2012 is our papa’s 8th Death Anniversary…its been that long but it seems that it was just yesterday when it happened. I made this article to let him and everyone know how we love and appreciate our papa…

Papa was one of those hard working father that always got his way. His words were the law in our house. We used to fear him but this is his way of teaching us the most valuable lessons in life, he thought us standing up for what we believe in. As we grew older, we understood why he treated us like that. And we discovered that he was a very compassionate and kind person. We learned that the most important thing that he had was us, his family. Though he may never have said it out loud we know that he was really proud of what we have become. We are who we are now because we had a father like him.

I remember he often brought something for us when he came home from work. He was strict as a father but that’s only because he cared for us. To his friends he was a very kind person and was always ready to help. He sometimes asked for help though but he was a very generous man, When he helped he simply helped… and he never wanted to be acknowledged for anything he did.

I realize how fortunate we were to have him as our papa. There are no words to express his influence in our lives. It is through his example that we learned to be the person we are today.

Papa was strong, loving, and gentle. He loved his family and was deeply devoted to mama.

Papa was not perfect, but who in this world is? He was, however, I am happy to say, perfectly himself... a husband... a father...a brother… a man of integrity... and for that we are forever grateful.

Papa’s last days were not easy. He found it hard to concede to the body's imperfection and the growing need to depend on others for support. Always used to being in control, but that time Big C was controlling him.

Papa showed strength and love right up until his last days with us. I want to remember everything that he shared with us. And we are happy that he is gone home to our creator.

Papa, it has been 8 years since you left us so suddenly. Although you're no more with us here but your presence nearby is always felt especially through our dreams where we always see your happy and smiling face. Papa, we would like to thank you so much for bringing us all up nicely if not for you and mama we wouldn't be here today.

To end this…I want to share a poem of Shariefa Hendricks. A simple tribute to the MAN we called PAPA…

The day you answered God's call
Left an empty space
Our world came crashing down
We couldn’t breathe…couldn’t talk…
We felt so numb, we couldn’t walk.

It was so hard to believe

That you were gone.
Once so strong;
Where do we belong?
Why did you have to leave?
Why did you have to go?

Thinking of you brings tears to our eyes

We never thought we would see your demise
Who will teach us right from wrong?
Now that you are gone?

It was so hard for you to go

Without you holding our hand

or to catch us if we fall
But don’t worry Papa
We remember everything you taught us

Now its time for us to let you go

The hardest thing we’ve ever had to do
But before we do,
we want you to know, we’re so sorry for all we put you through
We Love you Papa
More than words can describe
We wish you were here, We wish you were alive!

We said this before and we’ll say it again…

PAPA… we love you so much and we will always miss you

so long as we see each other again.

Tribute to my Siblings (Part Two)

Here is the second part of my Tribute…

People say I’m always one of the boys…well I grew up with three brothers (1 older and 2 younger brothers). We share same passion for sports – basketball. They all play basketball and I watched and cheer on the bleachers. We sometimes watched our idols play whether UAAP, PBA, PCCL and FilOil Cup…basketball is our common denominator.

And on this rare opportunity, I find time to show my love, care and appreciation to my brothers…for my BROTHERS ARE FOREVER

We share a special bond,
Like blood, It’s thicker than water.
Friends may come and go,
And relationships may drift apart,
But brothers are forever.

Though the sun may rise in the east,
And set in the west,
You will still be my brothers.
Though the seasons may change,
You will still be my brothers.

What God has ordained,
No man can ever change,
Brothers are forever.

You are my brothers,
And there is no other.
No one can take your place,
Coz Brothers are forever.

Tribute to my Siblings (Part One)

have you ever had that feeling that life  gets a little too busy, everywhere around you seems a little too noisy, so much so that you can already forgot one important thing…to simply say THANK YOU to people who in one way or another have been part of our lives… and we sometimes just need to be reminded of.

We should always find time to say in words and show in actions how much we love, care and appreciate these people…and for me, here is my TRIBUTE TO MY SIBLINGS – little yet special work showing my  love, care and appreciation for my beloved siblings …

The first part of my Tribute is for  THE WOMAN I CALL... ATE

The woman I call ate
the one who’s always there
the one who always cares.

The woman I call ate
She makes me smile when times are blue
The woman I call ate
Is someone very true.

The woman I call ate
I considered my true friend
The woman I call ate
Will be there till the end

above all…

The woman I call ate
Is a blessing from God above
The woman I call ate
Is the woman that I'll always love.

**the second part will be for my beloved brothers…( ‘ , ‘ )

Message to mama ( ' , ' )

Mother is the sweetest gift from God to us. There is no way we can ever really thank our mother for all the things she does for us nevertheless we must make it a habit to keep reminding ourselves of the various sacrifices she made while raising us. Every day is the best time to say in words and actions how much we love and care for our mom…

To Mama…
Motherhood is tough 24 hour job, no pay, no day off, sometimes it is unappreciated, but yet resignation is impossible. A mother is a woman who created by God to bring joy, love, (boy, tutu and nico) happiness and caring into this world. We are so glad God has created YOU to be our mother.

Having a mother like you while growing up was the greatest gift and biggest advantage we could ever have. It is because of the confidence and values that you instilled in us that made us who we are today.
Thank you for shaping us to be the person we wanted to be and we’re proud to be. Thank you for your unwavering support throughout our journey.
Thank you for always having hope when we didn’t have it for ourselves.
Thank you for telling us not to give up when we said we couldn’t do it any more.
Thank you, for everything you have done for us, thank you for everything you have said, and for all the times when you said nothing and you just listened.
Thank you for being such a wonderful mother. We don’t know what we would do without you.
Thank you MAMA, We love you, more than words can ever express.

/Joy, Boy, Love, Tutu & Nico

Political Science 2006

Ever dreamed of an owe-inspiring world?

Well, there is nothing you wish you could live college life with fun under the sun but in these four walls of concrete – we considered home for four years. Four years filled with rituals of youth, trials and fun.

These are the funny, inspiring and memorable personas of our tribe: In our class you will never frown…we got Madam Ibo, Madam Frias and Sir De Guzman – the king and queens of our tribe. The man and women of our hearts. Rochelle – the PSC President rules like a noble queen but she’d never been so mean.

Maui is sweet – definitely the class baby while Laila is the class lading lady and Ton is the young version of Mrs. Sevillano and Andrew is the number one worshiper of James Yap.

Pau is always poised. Vince has an enchanting voice. Vanie Mae, Luz, Reycel and Charm are demure buddies and Bon and Yhen are perfect lovers while Norly and Mayet has a love and hate relationship. And when John sits with the boys – he wants to rejoice.

Francis is the “padre de pamilya”. Hernie is the artist. Stephen is said to be “kikay” and Yano is kind that makes him Mrs. Navarez’ paborito. Beware of Avelino for he will pull you unnoted tricks.

Ailyn was mistaken to be suplada and Astrid is the class treasurer and also sings in tune. And when Ave sings his song expect the monsoon. Jojo and Mark is our best bet in basketball while Blaise in soccer. With France is never boring since she is always laughing and Pipay excel in almost everything. Mai Mai epitomizes a beauty queen doll. Noisy yet delightful Vanie, Bang, Abi and Angel are best pal and smart Judy is everybody’s mahal. Tin is the best writer while Liedee is the class latecomer and Anabel’s kamao never fails to impress everybody.

And with Ate Jen, Mimi Grace and Manny – the newest addition in our family the class was never in dismay.

We’ve got all the best for you to stay…such a pleasant personality showing a slice of POLITICAL SCIENCE HARMONY.
